ABOUT ME
Hello, I am Dr Charlotte Longley. I am an Educational and Child Psychologist from the UK. I am a psychologist, qualified teacher and parent.
Following my A-Levels, I completed a degree in Psychology and went on to gain my qualification to teach as a postgraduate. While I loved teaching at a challenging inner London school, I was particularly drawn to the children who did not find the school environment easy. For some, it was friendships that were hard, for others spelling or simply understanding what the task was.
I was fortunate to be admitted to the first cohort of the new Child, Community and Educational Psychology Doctoral program at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust in London. There I had the privilege to train as part of a multidisciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team, gain experience working in several different local authority settings and conduct research.
I went on to work as an Educational Psychologist in North London before moving to South London and becoming a Senior Practitioner Educational Psychologist. I developed a specialist interest in Emotional, Social and Behavioural needs, particularly in the area of emotional wellbeing.
Over the years, I was lucky to alternate work and study with my other passion, travel. One of my trips involved a stay in Prague. Here I fell in love… and not just with the city!
After a career break for maternity leave and working in the family travel business, I have returned to work as a Psychologist in Prague.
